I'm back! But for real this time. What's different this time around? I have figured out what it is that has stopped me in the past from picking up the needles, and I have laid out a plan for how I'm going to revive my love of knitting one step at a time.
This morning I released a new series on my YouTube channel called "The Knit Chronicles". In this series, I will be chronicling each step of the knitting process, from beginning to end. Cast on to bind off. And I'm very excited!
In this episode I give a quick recap off all of the things that I have knit up for my lovely new niece, Seraphina. I also bring out a few finished objects that were somewhat impulsively cast on... Which apparently is how I've decided that most of my knits will come to be.
As of late, I've been adding loads of lovely patterns to my favorites on Ravelry. At night before heading off to bed, instead of browsing Instagram or Facebook, I revisit those favorites in search of my next project. Once I have singled out a pattern (or two) that I can cast on using stash yarns, I get to work on my gauge swatch(es). Then, once I make gauge I cast on, and that's it!
On the plus side, creating this way has allowed me to finally start focusing on the yarn that I already own instead of planning trips to go out and buy more yarn. Don't get me wrong, I love buying yarn, but I don't always need to. Revelation of the century! My stash is dwindling, and I'm okay with that.
At the very end of the podcast I have inserted a few highlights from our recent trip to San Antonio. We had a blast in case you were wondering :).
I'm back with a new episode! This one is full of cute baby knits and fun knit plants. My Sister-in-law just welcomed her first baby into the world, and as the baby's only "maker" auntie, I feel that it is my duty to cover her from head to toe in precious baby knits. I have been knitting up a storm. I can't wait for her to receive the giant care package that I'll be shipping out!
Long time, no podcast. Why? Because since my last podcast I have lived in two different states, totaled my car, changed jobs, and decided to cut my sugar intake by a lot! As someone who doesn't always handle change well, I lost almost all motivation to knit during this time. But hey, I'm okay now! Very okay, in fact, and ready to pick up where I left off. Curious to know what I've been up to as of late? Here you go 😊:
As some of you may know, from last month or so until now I have been extremely busy studying and preparing for projects and finals. Well guess what? I'M ALL DONE! the semester is finally over (as of yesterday) and I could not be happier. I love school, don't get me wrong, but I was so ready for a break. I am taking summer classes but they are all online so I get to work from home using the wonderful new computer that my boyfriend custom built for me. Now that I have a computer that doesn't lag and freeze, I see myself being much more productive and active both here and on YouTube and I can't wait.
Now that we've gotten all of that out of the way, here is episode 3 of my podcast. It's very short but I hope you enjoy it none the less:
